The biggest frustration nail techs face is patchy foil transfer. The solution is using a dedicated Foil Transfer Gel. Unlike the standard sticky layer of a colour coat, these specialized adhesive gels are formulated to grip the foil perfectly. Simply apply, cure for the recommended time in your LED/UV lamp, press the foil, and peel for a 100% flawless transfer.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my transfer foil coming off patchy?

Patchy transfers usually happen for two reasons: either the adhesive layer isn't sticky enough, or the foil wasn't pressed down firmly in the crevices of the nail. We highly recommend using a dedicated Foil Transfer Gel (cured exactly to the manufacturer's instructions) and a silicone tool to firmly smooth the foil over the entire nail before peeling off the backing.
Do I need a special top coat to seal nail foils?

While you don't necessarily need a special top coat, encapsulation is key. Because foils have a smooth, metallic surface, top coat can sometimes peel away from them. For the best longevity, gently file the very tip of the free edge to remove any overhanging foil, apply a thin layer of a flexible base coat or clear builder gel to lock it in, and finish with your favourite Yoshi or Indigo no-wipe top coat.
Can I use foils over regular nail polish?

Transfer foils require a very specific, strong sticky layer to adhere properly. While there are air-dry foil glues available, the best and most durable results are achieved using a UV/LED curable Foil Transfer Gel over a gel polish enhancement.
